i came across this little clip of adverts for irn bru and thought i'd share. my granny mum and i were introduced to irn bru on our trip to scotland by way of their daring billboard ads...we'd actually ask the bus driver to pull over when we saw them just to take photos. irn bru is known as "scotland's other national drink" (the first, of course, referring to whiskey!) their ad campaigns are great and are always push to the limit. gotta love that british humor...enjoy!
i'm always so sad when summer ends, and then the fall colors come and i forget all about summer! (although then the first below zero day comes and i'm all about summer again..)
what a perfect fall day for a mid-western wedding! jesse & tracy are quite obviously M.F.E.O. (see tongue photos below for proof...all the way at the end). and if you don't know what M.F.E.O. stands for, then you haven't watched sleepless in seattle nearly enough!
it's funny that as often as i am taking pictures (my camera is sort of a permanent accessory), there are only a small handful of photos i've taken that i would consider among my favorites. there really is nothing like the satisfaction of capturing a moment - we're talking fractions of a second here - at just the right time and ending up with a photo that SAYS something when you look at it. (likewise, missing an amazing shot by a fraction of a second really sucks!) i'm happy to say that among this bunch are three photos that really stand out for me. one in particular is of tracy in the receiving line, and a guest is shaking jesse's hand as if to say, "way to go, man." i also really love the series of two photos taken right as tracy was about to meet her dad to escort her down the aisle...in the first you see her going up the stairs to meet her dad and in the next shot, just seconds later, all that's left of tracy lins is disappearing around the corner. the next time you see her, she's tracy win : ) not only is that powerful imagery - it's pretty fun stuff!
last weekend my friend tracy (who i've known since she was a four-wheelin' little farm girl with braces) married the man of her dreams and became mrs. jesse win.
i'm still working on some of the photos, so here's a sneak peek to tide you over in the mean time. this picture really stood out for me because when i first saw it, i thought maybe i had somehow shot back in time and taken a picture of bonnie, tracy's mom, on HER wedding day. they do look alike in many ways, but in this picture, i think they look like twins.

lookit what avis and i made with the gocco! this was by far the most fun thing i have done in a while - within minutes i was fantasizing about quitting my job so i could stay home and gocco all day. hmmm...what's next?? wedding invitations perhaps??
i went to an appointment with aimee last week...she got a new listing and i got a new dog.
this little dog just jumped in my open car window right into my lap. he was on the run and very muddy, so we brought him home and cleaned him up. after calling him 'new dog' for the last week, avis was trying out a list of names on him to see if he responded to any. it turns out he had a name, which funnily enough, happens to be sam. so we now have a whidbey and two sams!
casey, her cousin alicia, and the girls stopped by our office yesterday to spread a little sunshine! they looked so darn cute, parading around with their flowers. what a nice way to spend a summer day : )
saturday we made plans to go boating with my mom & dad, ken, jennine, & karl kline, and jenni & craig's little guys, spencer & carson. it rained most of the day, but that didn't stop us! what better to do in the rain but get wet(ter)??
the star of the show was little carson, who wasn't real sure about coming along without his mom & dad, and who definitely wasn't sure about this whole being pulled behind a boat in a tube deal. i was trying to figure out if he was having a good time, when all of a sudden he surprised us all by just up & jumping in the middle of the lake! next thing you know, he's riding in the tube (not without first examining the hand signals at length - see below) and staying in even when the other boys got 'tossed' out (really they jumped, but carson was so proud we didn't tell him). and it all ended with a huge grin and a thumbs up! who can beat that for a rainy saturday?
so darryl just got home from soccer...i'm sitting at my computer, and he sits down at his computer behind me to manage his minions (or whatever is is he is does over there!) when and i hear him say, "CRAP!" he is obviously quite alarmed, so i, equally alarmed and certain something dire must have happened, ask, "what's happened honey??!!" to which he replies, (and no i am not making this up...i couldn't make it up if i tried...) "i forgot to bunker my nuclear missles!!" awwww : ) i love darryl so much!
so on that note, to all you geeks in love out there, i dedicate this. i am ordering mine tomorrow. love ya d!
